Who we are

The Directors of Hunter Livestock Export Services,  Colin and Norma Cairns , reside on their property Nortenhof at Paterson in New South Wales, Australia.

Colin and Norma also operate Nortenhof Boer Goat Stud which carries established blood lines of full blood Boer goats - the South African meat goats. Quality stud stock has been built up through a credible breeding program using new blood lines introduced through embryos imported from South Africa.

Where we send livestock

This breeding program allowed us to undertake our initial successful export of Boer goats and quickly progress to regular consignments to several South East Asian destinations including the Philippines, mainland Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei. Fiji too has now joined our list of importations.

As our business has grown, so too has our network of local breeders and this has enabled us to able to meet the changing interests and livestock requirements of our overseas buyers.

Our focus continues to be the supply of high quality breeder Boer Bucks and Does, smaller numbers of slaughter animals and all types of dairy (milk) goats to our overseas customers.  To this list we have added high quality breeder and slaughter sheep – the importation of which is proving very popular with indications of an increasing demand.

We’re an accredited Quarantine Facility

Nortenhof is also a fully accredited AQIS Quarantine Facility and regularly exports Boer goats and sheep to many parts of South East Asia. Livestock are brought onto the property for pre-export isolation and quarantine during which time, the required veterinarian treatments are carried out.

How does the livestock leave Australia ?

That’s why you’ll often see varying numbers of stock, and various types of stock, on the property. Animals leave from here to travel directly to the Sydney airport where they are penned and fly out on routine commercial flights.
